Hi All

There has been a lot of chatter recently about the Orphan works Act and the threat its approval has over us maintaining the copyright on all our images.

There really isn't anything to panic about. The Act has already been rejected a number of times and it will without a doubt either be amended or rejected again.

If this does become something for us to really have to worry about then the ARTeam will let you know.

Have you seen my Conceptual Collection. I am scouring the gallery finding the best ideas and images. So have a rummage around in it if your looking for some inspiration. Conceptual Collection

Look out for some new News Articles coming soon. The next one will be on Conceptual Photography that uses other graphic media to express an idea.

I'm really glad you re-assured us about the whole Orphan Act hoopla! I was too lazy to read it, so I was jumping to crazy conclusions!

Your welcome. These things are never worth getting that worked up about whilst they are still in the draft stages.

I was starting to get worried about the Orphan Works Act but I'm very glad it has been rejected these many times - if the majority disapprove of such an Act then it shouldn't be made law

Its not something I'm going to comment on until I know much more about what is going to happen with it. All statutory legislation is scary in the draft form. Its up to governmental systems to then reshape it into a workable law. Thats what democratic governments do.

I think there is probably a need for the act though and I suspect that what ever happens it will drive a rethink on how we can control our copyright online. That can only be a good thing.
