    Alive & Kicking

    Hi All

    Just a quick note to let anyone who cares know that I am still alive and bouncing around.

    I remain really busy with things in the real world and just don't have the kind of time for this place that I used to have. But I'm itching to get some quality time with my camera and will hopefully have some new things to show you all soon.

    I have also resigned from my GD position. It really needs to be someone who has some proper time to commit to the community and its going to be a while before I am back in a position where I can take that sort of responsability on again. But thank you to all those who supported me in the role and I hope I haven't dissapointed you too much.

    Thank you for all your supportive comments, I can't gaurantee I will get to reply to them all as I literally have thousands of them. But thank you, its very humbling when you see how many people actually care.

    Hi All

    There has been a lot of chatter recently about the Orphan works Act and the threat its approval has over us maintaining the copyright on all our images.

    There really isn't anything to panic about. The Act has already been rejected a number of times and it will without a doubt either be amended or rejected again.

    If this does become something for us to really have to worry about then the ARTeam will let you know.


    Have you seen my Conceptual Collection. I am scouring the gallery finding the best ideas and images. So have a rummage around in it if your looking for some inspiration. Conceptual Collection


    Look out for some new News Articles coming soon. The next one will be on Conceptual Photography that uses other graphic media to express an idea.

    I am really happy to take your suggestions for Daily Deviations. Conceptual Photography can often be overlooked in the wider photography world because of the need to understand and appreciate the idea being portrayed.

    So please if you come across a photograph you want to suggest and it clearly shows that the photographer concieved the idea before the shot was taken. Then send me a note titled DD Suggestion with a thumb of the image and a short description of why you like it.

    I can't promise to feature everything. But I will try and find away to promote everything you send me.

    But remember.... Conceptual Photography only.

    Gordon has one of those galleries where one look and your hooked. I challenge anyone not to be able to find at least five images in there that you would not want to add to your favourites.

    His photography is perfectly executed and he generally works alone and when you look at how complicated some of his shots are you get to understand how much patience and perseverance goes into his work.

    I have featured a few of his conceptual images below, but go visit his gallery to see much much more.

    Hi all,

    The Conceptual photography gallery gets a lot of DD suggestions. Its not always possible to post what has been suggested for one or more of the following reasons.

    - The person suggested has only recently received a DD.
    - The person suggesting has already had a DD suggestion posted recently.
    - The volume of DD suggestion is so high that its impossible to post them all.

    This journal features all the suggestions that have not made it to being posted as a proper Daily Deviation.

    Floating Apples Amongst Other Things

    Hi All

    This journal is starting to get very busy. I hope its not got too much going on for anyone to bother with it. Let me know if you think thats the case.

    I have updated the link section at the bottom and have also added some new competition. If your running a competition, then let me know and I will add it to this list and PIMP it in the AR Journal as well.

    I have come to the conclusion that Daily Deviations are curious things. The other day I awarded a DD to someone that had only been a member on dA for a few days and hardly anyone who visited his page commented or faved.

    Maybe I picked an image that other people didn't like, or maybe it was because he was new and therefore not worthy of a DD. Or maybe its because od something else.

    My question really is this...

    Why do you look at the Daily Deviations?

    or even...

    Why don't you look at the Daily Deviations?

    Let me know and I will try and make better selections.
