Ooh, I don't know. I've never entered a contest, and I can't believe I've got anything interesting to impress the judges. I mean, I'm fond of that seascape, but I know it's not original or creative. I do seascapes because I live next to the sea and I really enjoy doing them....But I don't see them as creative.
Your work blows me aways because of it's variety, because it actually has mood and feels as though it's actually showing me something. It's proper photography.
I just do shots with nice colours.
But...uhm, I might enter
I'm not going to accept what your saying about your photography because it's just not true. It's bloody hard to photograph the sea and make it look interesting. I discard so much because the light is wrong or the focus is wrong. Your long exposure stuff is excellent and whilst it might not have a social message it has an aesthetic beauty which firmly puts it in the artistic category.
Seascapes can be great statements on minimalism and romanticism. They can also be dramatic and overpowering. This guy is a world famous fine art photographer and one of my top ten favorites [link]
